Welcome to Tūhono Taiao Connecting and Empowering Nature-Based Projects in New Zealand. At Tūhono Taiao, we are dedicated to creating a collaborative ecosystem to connect and empower key stakeholders involved in nature-based projects throughout New Zealand. Our platform serves as a hub where iwi, hapū, community groups, volunteers, environmental organizations, businesses, central government agencies, local government, and Jobs for Nature projects can come together, exchange knowledge, share resources, request support, and forge meaningful connections. Together, we can drive positive change and foster a sustainable future for our natural landscapes.
Tūhono Taiao was born out of a shared vision to create a platform to facilitate collaboration and enhance the collective impact of nature-based projects across New Zealand. We recognised the importance of connecting diverse stakeholders who play a vital role in environmental conservation, sustainable development, and community engagement, including project partners from the Jobs for Nature programme. With this goal in mind, we set out to build a space where these stakeholders can connect, learn from one another, and work together to achieve common objectives.
Our mission - empower communities to restore their nature in New Zealand by fostering collaboration, knowledge sharing, and access to resources and support. We strive to build a strong network of stakeholders representing iwi, hapū, community groups, volunteers, environmental organisations, businesses, central government agencies, local government, and our project partners from Jobs for Nature programme. Through our platform, we aim to facilitate partnerships, amplify projects' impact, and drive positive environmental outcomes.
